DO YOU WANT TO SUCCEED/PROSPER?

(17-06-2007)

Isaiah 1:19-20

Do you see yourself successful? Poverty is a state of mind
Proverbs 23:7 As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
Numbers 13:27-33; Numbers 14:6-10,22-24,30-38
Of the twelve spies, ten had a grasshopper mentality and two had a winning attitude. The ten did not reach the promised land because they said they were not able. Two reached the promised land because they said they were able.

Tips to note:

  1. Your success depends upon you and your God. Joshua 1:5 Nobody will manage to stop your success as long as your God is with you.

  1. Embrace God's promises. Joshua 1:3,8 Study the Word to make it your own. Tread upon all the promises you want to possess. Meditate on the Word. Do the Word. 1Timothy 4:15 Psalms 1:1-3 John 15:7

  1. Be strong and very courageous. Do not be afraid. Joshua 1:6,7,9 Discouraging things will come but take courage. Intimidations may come but do not be afraid because your God is with you.

  1. Leave the past behind. Joshua 1:2 Moses was dead and his era had passed. Joshua had to realize that it is his turn to lead the Israelites. Some of us fail to succeed because of clinging to past glories or past failures.
    Philippians 3:13
SUCCESS (Part 2)

Joshua's journey to success (Joshua 1:1-9)
1. Joshua was the servant of a successful Moses. (v1)
-If you want to be successful, associate with successful people.
2. "Moses, my servant is dead." (v2)
-Leave the past behind. Do not be a prisoner of the past.
3. Every place you set your foot upon becomes yours. (v3)
-Check the promises of God and in the word and make them your own.
-Spend time spying on the promises and claim them.
4. If God is on your side, nobody can stop you. (v5)
5. Be strong and very courageous to do God's command. (v6,7)
-Keep on obeying the word.
-Do not be discouraged from doing the word.
(walking in love, praying, giving etc).
Discouraging thoughts may come and tell you that you have been tithing all the time but things do not seem to improve. Take courage and obey the word.
    Philippians 4:15-19 Luke 6:38
    2Corinthians 8:9,12 2Corinthians 9:6-12
6. This book of the law must not depart from your mouth, meditate on it day and night.
-Keep on confessing the word of God
    a. My God shall supply all my need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
    b. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
    c. Even though Christ was rich, he became poor so that I, through his poverty, may become rich.
