Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding.
"Trust" A patient undergoing surgery trusts the anaesthetist and put his life on the hands of that anaesthetist.
Matthew 14:24-32
Peter took a step of faith by trusting in Jesus
walking on the water (in the midst of the sea not in the shallow
river). This was a big risk. He relied/depended on the Lord.
He did not lean on his understanding that the water is liquid and
he can sink deep in the sea. But when he started looking at the
wind he was afraid and he began to sink. What does walking on
the water have to do with the wind? He was very close to his
destination (Jesus). Some Christians sink when they are about to
reach their miracle
When they reached the ship, the wind ceased.
It is as if the wind was there just to test Peter's faith.
2 Chronicles 14:9-12 Asa trusted God and he defeated a million
Ethiopians. He believed that God can save with many or with them
that have no power. The main thing is to rely (trust) in the Lord.
Romans 10:11 (Ampl) Anyone who trusts/relies in the Lord will never be put to shame.
Psalms 118:8-9 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
2 Chronicles 16:1-13 Asa trusted in people and the Lord was displeased. He relied on the king of Syria. Even when he was sick, he trusted in physicians and he did not seek God.
Psalms 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
