HOLY COMMUNION 16-09-2007 THE BLOOD OF JESUS

The wages of sin is death Romans 6:23
Jesus had to die and shed his blood to redeem us and to pay for our sins. All who believe in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Psalms 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our sins from us.

Without shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.
Hebrews 9:22

Atonement vs Remission

Leviticus 17:11 The Greek word katallage or Hebrew word kaphar means atonement/covering (this is what the blood of bulls and sheep in the O.T would do to people's sins – cover them).
The Greek word aphesis means remission/sending away (this is what the blood of Jesus does to our sins – wash them away). Matthew 26:28 (King James Version)

Hebrews 10:1-4,11-22 (Amplified) The blood of Jesus washes our sins away. The blood of bulls could only cover sins and the guilt conscience would always remain.
1John 1:7

1Corinthians 11:23-30 Holy communion
