THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

(05-09-2010) John 1:29 Jesus is the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world.

1Corinthians 5:7 Jesus is our Passover. We are protected by his blood.

Hebrews 10:1-4,11-22 (Amplified) The blood of Jesus washes our sins away. The blood of bulls could only cover sins and the guilt conscience would always remain.

1John 1:7

Atonement vs Remission

Leviticus 17:11 The Greek word katallage or Hebrew word kaphar means atonement/covering (this is what the blood of bulls and sheep in the O.T would do to people's sins – cover them).

The Greek word aphesis means remission/sending away (this is what the blood of Jesus does to our sins – wash them away). Matthew 26:28 (King James Version)

Revelation 7:9-17 Saints in white robes, washed in the blood of the Lamb

Isaiah 1:18 Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.

1John 1:7-2:2 The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. Note that it says sin and not sins. This refers to the sinful nature. But after you have been cleansed from the sinful nature, you should not sin. However, if you sin, you must confess your sins and God will forgive you. The blood of Jesus will continue to cleanse you.

2Corinthians 5:21 Jesus took my sin nature so that I may take on his righteousness. I was a sinner, but now I am the righteousness of God in Christ. God sees me through the blood.

Exodus 12:21-24 The Passover. The blood preserved the Israelites from the destroyer. The blood of Jesus can also protect and preserve you from the destroyer. You need to speak the blood over your house and over the transport you use.

Stay under the blood. Do not move out of the blood. If you stay under the blood, the destroyer cannot destroy you.

Revelation 12:11 The blood of Jesus gives us victory. Satan is afraid of the blood of Jesus.

1Corinthians 11:23-30 Holy Communion
