Romans 4:16-24 Be fully convinced that whatever God has promised, He is also able to perform.
Matthew 7:7-11 God is a good father, He gives good gifts to those who ask Him

Hindrances to effective prayer:

1. James 4:2-3 (Ampl.) Asking with wrong motive e.g I want this because so and so has it, or because I want to be better than so and so.
2. Matthew 6:5-8 Praying for wrong reasons e.g praying to impress others
3. Mark 11:25-26, Matthew 6:12-15 Unforgiveness will hinder your prayer
4. Proverbs 28:13 Sin (covered) will hinder your prayer
