FAITH COMES BY HEARING

(22-04-2007,29-04-2007)

*We all have different needs to be met by the Lord. Faith is a hand to receive from the Lord.

*Luke 17:5 The disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith
*Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing.
(Faith in God comes by hearing the Word of God)
Note that faith comes by continuing to hear – hearing. It is not enough just to hear once. Continue hearing the Word as you speak it (John 8:31). Continue hearing the Word as others speak it.
*Mark 4:24 (Amplified) Be careful what you are hearing. The measure of thought and study you give to the truth you hear will be the measure of virtue and knowledge that comes back to you.
What you keep on hearing will affect your life – it will bring fear or faith. As such you need to guard and keep your heart with all diligence. Proverbs 4:23
Proverbs 4:20-22 You guard your heart by feeding on the Word of God. You guard your heart by sifting what gets into your heart.
It is your responsibility to spend time in the word of God. It will benefit you. The Word of God is life to those who find it and health to all their flesh.

Joshua 1:8 The Word is the source of our victory and success. The Word must not depart from your mouth. If you have been experiencing one failure after the other, check what you have been speaking. Did the Word not depart from your mouth?
Study and meditate in the Word day and night.
*Psalms 1:1-3 The word of God will make you to be always successful and prosper. You will be like a tree planted by the rivers of water – always bringing forth fruit in its season
Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge"
Many Christians today are suffering because of lack of knowledge of God's Word.
A good example is that of a poor man who could not enjoy nice food in the ship because he did not know that his ticket also included meals.

Many Christians today still get deceived because they do not know the Word of God.

The Bible is your constitution. You must know your rights, otherwise the devil will trample over you and rob you of your rights.
Matthew 22:29 You are deceived because of not knowing the scriptures.

2Timothy 2:15 Study to show yourself approved unto God
Acts 17:10-11The Christians in Berea were more noble than those in Thessalonica because they searched the scriptures daily.
Jeremiah 15:16 Job 23:12 I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

1Timothy 4:13,15 Study the Word, meditate on it. Give yourself wholly to it and your success will be evident to all.
Luke 6:46-49 Establish yourself in the Word. Be a doer of the Word. You will remain standing even after challenges. Your house will not fall during rainy and stormy times.
Ephesians 6:10-18 Put on the whole armour of God (including God's Word) so that you may be able to stand in the evil day. Rough times will come but if you are strong in the Lord you will remain standing after all the trouble.

The problem is not the problem. The problem is not the storm or the rain but what you build your house upon. Make sure that the foundation of your house is strong, then you can relax even during challenging moments.
