THE REAL MEANING OF CHRISTMAS

Many people celebrate Christmas without understanding its real meaning.

Luke 2:8-14 Isaiah 9:2,6,7
The birth of Jesus brought us good news of great joy to all people.

-The light has come. There is no more need to walk in darkness. Isaiah 9:2 Luke 2:32

-The Saviour is born. Luke 2:11

-Unto us the Son is given. Isaiah 9:6

Christmas reminds us how God gave us His Son.

Jesus is God's present to us. Christmas is the time to give. When people give presents during Christmas, they are copying what God did when He gave us Christ. Santa Clause (the original Father Christmas) was a giver who gave in secret as Jesus taught. (Matthew 6:4) John 3:16-21 -Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6,7

Christmas means the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. Christ = the anointed one mas= celebration

Luke 4:17-19 Acts 10:38
Jesus was anointed with the Holy ghost and with power to do good, heal and deliver all who were oppressed of the devil. Jesus is the Anointed One (Christ = Greek, Messiah = Hebrew). He has been anointed to preach the good news, to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised and to proclaim the salvation and free favours of God. This is good news. We have reason to celebrate.
