Matthew 16:17-19 You have the keys of the kingdom of heaven.
-An example of a key to unlock the door – A locked door cannot be opened but you can open it after unlocking it with the key.
Matthew 18:18 “Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven…” You have a part to play in your miracle.
An example of electric switch – electric power is there but you have to switch it on to experience the power.
2Kings 7:3-10 “Why sit we here until we die.” Believe God to change your situation. Even though God has good plans for you, you have a part to play in letting those plans come to pass.
2Kings 4:1-7 The widow woman had a problem – her sons were to be taken as slaves because of their father’s debt. This woman activated her miracle by crying to the man of God for help. She had to use what she had (a pot of oil) to activate her miracle as directed by the man of God. How many people go to a man of God when they are in trouble? The man of God directed her what to do. Many people want God to solve their problem in their own way.
2Kings 4:8-17 The Shunemite woman activated her miracle by blessing the man of God. Because of this, she was blessed with a son.
Matthew 15:22-28 The Canaanite woman received the miracle for her daughter because of her faith. Even though there were discouraging circumstances, she persisted until she got what she wanted (the healing of her daughter)
Mark 10:46-52 Bartimaeus initiated his healing by calling on Jesus and telling Jesus what he wanted. “I want to receive my sight” It was not up to Jesus for Bartimaeus to be healed, Jesus was passing by.
Mark 5:25-34 The woman with the issue of blood activated her miracle. Jesus did not decide to release the power to heal her. She touched his garment and she was healed, then Jesus realised that virtue had gone out of him. Her faith made her whole. What would have happened if she did not go to Jesus?
1Kings 17:8-16 The widow woman had to give Elijah a piece of cake to activate her miracle – otherwise she would have eaten her last meal and died.
